Environmental Portraiture

I shoot almost exclusively "environmental portraiture",
often called "location portraiture".

Simply put, I typically photograph in your space - your home,
a favorite location or a place you & I find interesting
and complementary to what you want from the portrait.

I do this for a variety of reasons:

ONE - Most of us are more comfortable to be in a familiar place.
That’s true with most of us but particularly for children.
TWO - It can create a ‘context’ to the shot – a feeling for
what’s important to you, large and small.
THREE - It is a more natural, less artificial setting which
enhances the sense of who you are.

Available Light

I also shoot as much as possible with the
natural &/or available light in your environment.

It’s more authentic & often adds it’s own unique qualities.
If some additional lighting is necessary, I have it available.
